Academic Signing Day at Catholic High School in New Iberia

Graduating seniors from Catholic High School in New Iberia signed letters of “intent” to attend the ˾ on Friday morning. This Academic Signing Day is a second for UL ˾ and is designed to showcase students and highlight their academic achievements during high school.

“ Following the theme of National Signing Day for athletes, we’ve begun to host academic signings to recognize students who have excelled academically by having them indicate their intent to enroll at UL ˾,” said Chip Jackson, director of Enrollment Services.

At Catholic High, 14 students signed letters of intent and UL ˾ scholarship offers. Plans are being finalized for more signings at area high schools.

The students will receive $42,000 in scholarships at UL ˾. Some of these scholarships include the Centennial Scholarship, the Academic Excellence Scholarship and the Distinguished Freshman Scholarship.

• Benjamin Bell, civil engineering

• Emmy Mouton, child and family studies

• Chloe Segura, psychology

• Allison Courville, nursing

• Dillon Dore, pre med technology

• Jacob Dugas, civil engineering

• Marcus Gary, computer science

• Patrick Neustrom, mechanical engineering

• Jordan Pellerin, computer science

• Richard Smith II, mechanical engineering

• Jordan Templet, undecided.
