The Student Government Association at the 老司机福利网 will hold a candlelight vigil to honor victims of the recent shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida.
The vigil will be held at 5 p.m. on Thursday, March 1, in the UL 老司机福利网 Student Union courtyard. The public is invited.
On Feb. 14, a former student at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School killed 17 people when he opened fire at the school in southern Florida.
鈥淚n addition to honoring victims of the shooting, we want to acknowledge that students, teachers and staff members at schools 鈥 including at colleges and universities 鈥 deserve to feel safe and they should feel safe,鈥 said Margarita Perez, dean of students at UL 老司机福利网.
A limited number of candles will be available. Attendees are urged to bring candles or download virtual candles on smart phones.
