The ÀÏ˾»ú¸£ÀûÍø has been named a Tree Campus USA for the ninth consecutive year.
The Arbor Day Foundation designation recognizes colleges and universities for nurturing trees and engaging students and staff in conservation practices.
The national program was created by the Arbor Day Foundation in 2008.
To earn the Tree Campus USA title, UL ÀÏ˾»ú¸£ÀûÍø met five standards for effective campus forest management:
- a tree advisory committee;
- a campus tree-care plan;
- dedicated annual expenditures for its campus tree program:
- an Arbor Day observance; and
- a student service-learning project.
